Publisher’s Greetings
By Racine Hiet: Publisher/Editor

Thrive In Life Magazine has become an amazing journey for me. I’ve written novels, short stories and screenplays. This venture feels different, a way to reach out to others in a bold, direct manner, using mass technology to communicate with and share intense, private stories of personal growth. As I dip my toe, hesitantly, into my sixth decade of living on this planet, I want to understand what it means to truly thrive. And I wish to learn these Universal truths and hard-won wisdom along with you, my readers. My deepest hope is that this will be a vehicle for service.

When I first conceptualized this magazine, I admit my vision was a little less grand. I thought that “Surviving In Spite of the Human Condition” would be enough. It was my two sons who vehemently protested. Bless them indeed for inspiring me to believe, as Ms. Marianne Williamson writes, in the possibility of nurturing a thriving soul in a harsh world. Simply accepting that possibility has attracted some special writers to my magazine, human beings that better the world with their generosity of spirit, and who fill me with hope.

Among the diversity of topics, my magazine will also reflect my passion, love and respect for animals, so you will find here stories of the great wisdom and highly evolved souls of these animals who share our lives. Parents will also discover positive ways to interact with their children. For I believe in my heart that if our most innocent beings–our children and animals–are purely loved, protected and honoured for the blessed beings they are, our harsh world will soften. And our souls, in turn, will be better able to thrive.

Here, too, will be stories across the generations–from youth, bursting with energy and possibilities, learning to differentiate between striving and thriving, to seniors in their mid-eighties–like my spirited parents–and beyond, where triumphing over the aging process is an act of courage in itself, and who may be our most enduring models of inspiration.

I want to thank my whole family and closest friends for their wonderful support of this endeavor. I send special thanks to Ivor Block, my co-pilot for this venture, and my incredibly beloved partner in life, to Angelika Podgorska for her absolutely brilliant talent, who designed this most beautiful website, and to my oldest son, Robin Hiet-Block, President of NewGen Technologies, creator extraordinaire, who endlessly and patiently revised and reworked the site for me.

I’m very excited as I launch Thrive In Life Magazine on September 15, 2010. Come join me on this journey.  I look forward to your feedback and comments. If you’d like a particular topic addressed, please let me know, and if there is enough interest, one of our growing number of experts will provide an informative article for you. Pulitzer prizewinning columnist, Anna Quindlen, says, “The idea of growing up is basic fallacy. Maturation takes your whole life and ends when you die.” And that, hopefully, goes for the art of thriving.

Thank you.

Racine Hiet.
